It's been a while since I had a moment to update the blog, so here goes!!!
Our first night in Capri was a ton of fun. Our first stop was a very cute bar called Bar Tiberio (http://www.tripadvisor.it/Restaurant_Review-g187783-d2091201-Reviews-Bar_Tiberio-Capri_Island_of_Capri_Campania.html). It's situated within on of the main piazzas in Capri near the famous clock - outdoor seating that allows for some amazing people watching :) For dinner, we got a recommendation from the hotel concierge for a dinner spot and for rsvp since it's almost impossible to get an rsvp at any of the "hot spots" on the same day. He recommended a place called D'Amore (http://www.damorecapri.com/#). It's a quaint little family owned Italian restaurant completed with the cute little plump owner checking in on you to make sure everything tastes perfect..and even sneaking in some hilarious banter and smarty remarks...we even got a giant hug from the owner on our way out - wait until you see the pics. He is to die for!!
After dinner, we strolled along one of the many path ways to walk off the dinner then called it a night.
Sunday in Capri consisted of our usual breakfast - If I haven't mentioned it by now, the breakfast served is usually:
- assorted cereals and milk
- assorted fresh juices
- fresh baked breads and assorted jams/jellies/honey/etc
- fresh fruits (and I mean fresh...they are literally picked off a tree out back)
- a few kinds of thinly sliced meats and cheeses
- fresh cut heirloom tomatoes
- corn (which I thought was very bizarre)
- toast and assorted pastries
It's quite the european assortment. I usually make myself a "bocadillo" - a roll cut in half with a few pieces of the thinly sliced meat, a tomato, oregano, salt, pepper and a dash of olive oil. A sammich for breakfast sounds bizzare, I know but it's typical european style..and it's delicious :)
After breakfast, we headed straight to one of the most beautiful private beach clubs that I happend to stumble upon online - La Fontelina (http://www.fontelina-capri.com/en/index). You have to have a reservation at the restaurant to be able to reserve a spot on the beach. They also do not take reservations less than 24 hours ahead so it's a shit show trying to get in. Our concierge called the night prior and it was fully - I literally thought I was going to cry :( BUT the next morning, they called again at 9am (first time you can call in morning) and we were able to get in...yeaaa!!!!!!! It's situated at the very tippy end of the island and to get there...omg. We had to walk about a mile to the end of the road then take paths and stairs down about 1000 feet and then there we were! It was absolutely gorgeous and worth every single step of the way. The beach itself was actually rock with chairs or beds and umbrellas. We got 3 day beds. I know it sounds uncomfortable, but it is so amazing. We also got to swim in a private, protected section between the rocks in the most blue of blue water I have ever seen. Lunch was amazing as you can expect for 200 euro. They had reserved a table at the furthest end so we had the best view too! It was quite the hot spot as well - there was a a price of some sort from Saudi there, a huge mega yacht full of Russian businessmen, and many other very wealthy people. Everyone was wearing Armani, Gucci, Prada, etc and made us feel very "under dressed" to say the least. Regardless, we had fun :) The beach club had a private boat entrace/dock that little dingy boats pulled up to drop people off from their mega yachts - it was fun to watch that as well. After a few hours and a few new friends made, we were picked up in that same dock by a private chartered tour boat. We spent 2 hours touring the island of Capri on a boat that was all to our own and it was perfect! We got to see all of the famous grottos, some of the most incredible natural arches and formations, Monet Chandon's private home and his little beach area (definitely amazing) and also got to swim in the Blue Grotto. Ok, let me tell you...at this time, it was almost 530pm and for those that know me well, I cannot swim or get into the water when I cannot see what is below me or touch bottom for that matter. Well, the water was black because it was so deep...it took me a good 5 min to convince myself I was going to be okay. We swam a bit to get to the entrance to the grotto. There's a chain attached to the side that you need to pull yourself in quickly with, yes pull yourself in! You need to wait until the water is out and there is enough of a space for you to get in...scary in itself!! Finally in, we swam to the middle and let our eyes adjust. Through all of the fear and shaking, I managed to survive and see of the most spectacular things I have ever seen. This picture does not do it justice at all but we were not able to take our own pictures because of how we had to access it. (http://images02.localidautore.it/dbimg/resort/capri-island-36.jpg).
When we got back, we rode the finicolare from the marina up to the piazza right next to our hotel. It's a straight shot up in a train line buggy - very quick and very cute! That evening, we stopped at Bar Tiberio again for a few pre-dinner drinks. We stumbled upon a couple that we met at La Fontelina that day. They were very chatty as usual so the boys chatted with them while I hung out inside of the bar to watch the Naples match that was on. The owner sat me in a cute little spot next to him with my own little table for my cava - it was fun to be able to watch a local soccer match with the locals again :) The boys invited the 2 new friends (David and Andrew) to dinner, so the 5 of us (4 boys and little ol me) went to dinner. We landed at ______. We also got to know tDavid and Andrew a lot better and absolutely love them. Dinner, the drinks, and the company was a perfect end to our first full day in Capri!!!
Monday was spent as sort of a lazy day for me. I woke up sick around 3am and had a very hard time falling asleep again. I was very congested and just feeling like crap. I finally woke up around 1230 and got the day started. We shopped a bit and walked around and then stopped for lunch at a restaurant called Capri (http://www.capri.net/en/restaurants). The pizza was just what I needed for energy :) At that point, it was around 430pm and we had made plans to meet the new friends (David and Andrew) at a cute bar at the lighthouse in Anacapri to watch the sunset. We made our way over via cab and settled in. David and Andrew were running very very late and barely made it! Thankfully, we all got to witness the beautiful sunset before getting attacked by a billion mosquitos. We headed out very soon after and took a cab to downtown Anacapri - the cab driver suggested a VERY local restaurant called Le Arcate (http://www.capri.net/en/c/le-arcate) - so local that all of the people finishing work were popping in for dinner. The food was amazing - we had stuffed zuccini flowers, fresh calamari from the island, bruschetta, and a huge assortment of pastas and pizzas to share!! As we were walking towards the cab station, there was a very beautiful "concert" going on in the plaza. A woman (I tried to find out who she was but had no luck) was singing infront of about 100 seated people and everyone was in awe...so were we. It was one of those moments when I wished that my fiance was right there with me to complete that perfect little picture. After dinner and the impromtu concert, we headed home (it was already almost midnight) since we had to prep to leave for Positano in the morning.
Tuesday morning was breakfast as usual then we packed up and headed to the marina to catch out noon ferry over to Positano. The boat ride was VERY fast and the views were to die for (pics to come). When we were pulling up to the marina, there was a giant fire up in the mountains which caused a ton of icky smoke in the town :( speaking of icky, so Positano is very much a "walking town" and you definitely feel like a mountain goat with all of the climbing. Thankfully we hired a porter to take our big luggage to the hotel for us. We took our carry on luggage with us and what a mistake! Carrying our small luggage all that way nearly killed me. The stairs were pretty much vertical and it was oh....90 degrees. YUCK!! The upside...after all of that nasty climbing, we finally made it to our hotel - Hotel Villa Rosa (http://www.villarosapositano.it/). It's simply gorgeous. Our room has a very large private terrace that opens up to the beautiful mountain side and the water - I truly think we lucked out with all of the amazing rooms we have had on this trip. After we got situated...and cooled down, we decided to take a charter bus into Sorrento and explore a bit. The approx 1 hour ride was equally gorgeous and scary. The bus sped through the curvy roads that ran along the mountain and was probably only made for 1 car at a time. Tons of horn honking to warn oncoming traffic, many moments when we were a foot from the edge of the cliff, and scenery only available in Italy...all made for an interesting ride over to Sorrento :) Sorrento itself is very beautiful - very old town feeling with a little of modern touch. There were TONS of limoncello shops so of course, we popped into each and had to taste them all. We also saw one of THE largest lemons that we have ever seen - it was bigger than my head (and my head is a size large motorcycle helmet guys). A late lunch at Fauno Bar (http://www.faunobar.it/) The restaurant had pages and pages of Italian food including gluten free choices so it was very hard to choose. Thankfully they had a penne w meatballs and margherita pizza combo, which I obviously chose!! Pair that with prosecco and it was the perfect lunch :) The ride back was quick, well for me at least. I fell asleep quickly. The evening was spent being lazy - we got back around 930pm and were still full from lunch so we just explored town then got back in around midnight.
I had zero sleep last night thanks to someone's snoring so I am taking it easy today. The boys will be at the beach and I will be on the deck, hopefully napping in the sun :) Only 2 1/2 more days of vacation left - I am sad to be going back to reality soon but also so excited to see Chris!!!!
I also need to share this...so I have learned a few more phrases so I don't look SO touristy...
prego - you're welcome (in response to thank you) or please - confusing, I know
andi amo - let's go
bueno sera - good evening
un - one
dui - two
tre - three
quanto costa - how much?
I know these are supr basic terms, but I am so proud to have remembered them all :)
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Adios Barcelona/Sitges, Bon Journo Capri, Italy!
Hi guys! Our last true night in Sitges was so much fun! We had dinner at Bocallino again and then headed to the beach to gather wtih what was probably thousands of locals to celebrate the begining of Fiesta Mayor! I will be honest, I don't 100% know what the whole festival is about but here is some info on it. http://www.sitgesevents.com/event/fiesta-mayor-2/. The stores in the street cover their windows with boards, paper and posters to prevent damage from the bulls that they run through the streets and the fireworks that are literally set off in the streets...the streets that are no more than about 5-10 feet wide depending on if the restaurants have their settings out. Back to the beach...the fireworks were incredible! We were all packed onto the beach like sardines, arm to arm. I was having a very hard time because of all of the cigarette smoke and firework smoke combined.
After the show, I popped into the local sportsbar to watch the rest of the Spanish Super cup match. I met a very cute couple from Poland who were pregnant. They let me squeeze into the very corner of the window and bar to watch the match with them. BARCA WON!!!!!! It was so much fun to be within the locals watching their team kick butt. The bar was very crazy and rowdy, but in a good way...I can only imagine what it was like at the Camp Nou!!!! Not fully the experience I wanted since I wanted to actually be there, but it was wonderful :)
Next day was our last day in Sitges/Barcelona. We went to breakfast and the boys went to the beach for a few hours. I had enough of the scorching sun and really needed a nap. I hadn't slept very well because of the allergies...so siesta I went!
The boys got back in time (shocking, I know :)) and we headed to Barecelona to do the normal tourist thing. We did the hop on, hop off bus which I know is SUPER cheesy but honestly the very best way to see a city you aren't familiar with...and Barcelona is VERY spread out and I was not about to walk 123891230812312 blocks. It was amazing..We saw some of the most incredible, historic areas of Barcelona. http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/tour/barcelona-city-tour-bus.html#routeBarcelonaToursBus My favorite is always the Sagrada Familia which is Antoni Gaudi's famous Roman Catholic church. He dedicated his life to the design and creation of this church and although construction started in 1882, it is still under construction. The project is completed on a timeline based on donations from anonymous people. It's an incredible masterpiece and I just LOVE it so much. Last year, we were there in the evening and saw it lit up..this time, we were there during the day. A much different view but equally as breathtaking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagrada_Fam%C3%ADlia
After our tour, we headed back to Sitges around 10pm, yes VERY late considering our 4am wake up. We went to our new favorite restaurant La Tagliatella. I had an amazing caprese tortellini with a simple marina sauce...PERFECT end to a great day! At that point, it was already almost 1am and we had a 4am wake up call to leave by 430. Ok, let me tell you, the combination of allergies from all the darn smoke, the VERY LOUD music playing from the DJ on the beach and anticipation for Capri led to approx 45 minutes of sleep.
Fastforward 45 minutes :) Time to wake up! We actually made it to the airport with time to spare. My seat was far in the back of the plane..which I would normally complain about, but it allowed me to take some amazing pictures on the way in of the sunrise, the beautiful morning clouds, some land views, and the beautiful Mt. Vesuvius http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Vesuvius. The airport was similar to that of Maui when I was growing up...walk down the stairs from the plane to the terminal. VERY cute! A short cab ride to the ferry and on the Hydrofoil we were! The ride was a short 45 minutes to the island of Capri. The cab was so adorable (pics coming) and the ride up was...scary to say the least. The roads are VERY small and curvy to the point where you cannot see what is around the corner. We had about 5 close calls for a head on but with a lot of horn honking, dodging and speaking with arms, we arrived at our hotel - Hotel Capri http://www.capri.net/en/c/hotel-capri. It's much more charming than we originally thought. It's located smack in the middle of town with a view of the mountains on both sides and the marina below. Our room deck opens up and that is all we see. I cannot even describe how gorgeous it is here. I thought I was fortunate to see a lot of places last year and this year, but this just may take the cake. We walked the streets for a bit during the "cooler time" when it was approx 90 degrees. They are lined with a walkway that can fit one person (so tons of dodging and walking on the narrow road), speciality shops with jewelry, custom clothing, jewled sandals (that are around $300!! UGH!! I want a pair so badly!), lemoncello made with THE biggest lemons I have ever seen (They are about the size of 1 and 1/2 of my fist), and some designer stores like Prada, Gucci, LV, etc. It's a very quaint, but posh city. People are very nice considering the area and location (Capri is known for it's snotty, upscale living) and we are loving it so far!!
Time to head to the concierge to figure out our plan for the next 2 days here!!!

Muy Caliente!
OMG...sitges is SO hot! It's approx 90 degrees but feels like 105. Our first night in Sitges was pretty laid back. I wore the skirt I bought that day on the way back from lunch - it's a tutu style, fun skirt which turned out perfect for the evening. We had dinner at one of Jonathan's favorite restaurants - Boccalino. Last year, Jonathan and I shared the paella and it was probably one of the creepiest looking things I have eaten. It had giant prawns WITH the heads on. I'm sorry, but that just freaks me out. This year, we shared a pizza and caprese salad (this seems to be our norm). After dinner, we headed to a few bars. They are all open air meaning the restaurants are very, very tiny (pics to come) and all of the seating is literally pulled out and poured into the streets. All of the chairs are forward facing for the people watching, of course :) They're all super packed and close together and Europeans love to smoke so after about an hour or so, I had to call it quits. It was around 2am anyway and I was beat. I left everyone and like a big girl, walked home by myself. Poor Chris - I completely pulled the narco on him and passed out mid conversation again. Around 430am, I was woken up by the music that was STILL playing on the beach. It was a huge screen set up, similar to an outdoor movie...and I think it's hilarious that the song I woke up to was "baby got back". Go figure. I'm glad I woke up so I could speak to Chris again (I miss him tons). Finally around 5am, the music stopped and I could hear everyone singing and dancing in the streets. I tried to video it, but it was too dark - I LOVE SPAIN!!! What a life they live.
Second day in Sitges was incredible. We laid out on the beach as usual - a chair and umbrella cost approx 12 euro to "rent" for the day and trust me...it is VERY necessary. You don't want to be laying on that scorching sandThe chairs are arranged about 4 rows deep from the boardwalk down. . I feel so bad for the men that walk up and down the rows with their coolers full of drinks...even sangraia, mojitos and cava! It is scorching hot and to be carrying that crap around non stop? heck no! Ok so here is one of the best parts of yesterday....we were in the water and there are jelly fish here. (ps. it's the Mediterranean Sea). A few people started pointing and freaking out and I knew instatly what it was so naturally, I had to go over and see it for myself. It was beautiful..absolutely amazing .I got about a foot away from it and that is the closest I was gonna get. To see a jelly in it's natural habitat just enjoying life was absolutely one of the best things I have experienced. For those who have no clue, I am OBSESSED with jelly fish - so much so that I would love to have a jelly tank in my home. They are mesmerizing creatures and so graceful. AHHHH I still cannot believe I got to experience that!! :) :) :) Ok, moving on. So I only lasted about 2 hours on the beach. I was dying. The boys and I decided to head into Barcelona to spend the afternoon. We walked around the La Rambla. This site (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Rambla,_Barcelona) does not do it justice. It is FILLED with some of the freshest, most beautiful fruits, about 12309812308232 kinds of gummy candy, flowers, produce, and other things. I was completely freaked out by the butcher section - seeing a skinned rabbit chopped in halg length wise once in this lifetime is already one time too many :/. I have pics so you all will get to have the enjoyment as well! We also found the FC Barca store where I got some necessities for the man. I was very sad to not have been able to attend the Barca/Madrid match tonight but after speaking with some locals, it truly is not safe for a smaller, female tourist to go by herself. The locals said there is a great chance for some fighting and it's a mess after the matches and being abducted is a possibly. No thanks. I would rather share the experience with Chris anyway. We also stopped at El Corte Ingles (http://www.elcorteingles.es/). It's a huge department store that has literally eveything you need in life..including a giant super mercado at the bottom...one with oh, I don't know..11 rows of alcohol! I love when that dominates a store :) We headed back around 9 and changed and went for dinner. Barton wanted pasta so badly so we found a place right next to our hotel. It was packed and had people waiting on the curb so we were intrigued. La Tagliatella (http://www.latagliatella.es/eng/novedades.php) was amazing. We shared a pasta, a pizza, foccacia bread (there were 3 different onces - olives, garlic and parm), and cava sangria. It was all so incredible...and only 45 euro! After dinner we headed to one of our favorite clubs here called Queenz. Please do NOT click if you are feeling judgy today, thanks. (http://www.barqueenz.com/) We had a blast - I just love gay clubs/bars because everyone is ALWAYS having a great time and happy, there are no fights ever and it's very "safe" feeling. We left there and went to another club that I cannot remember for the life of me. Jian got us a private room which was perfect. I was a bit over the whole sweaty mess thing. After a bit of cava, it was quickly 2am. Yes, I know..that SEEMS early considering but after a full day in this damn heat...that is plenty of time to dance and have a blast...and a blast it was indeed!!
Today was my day. The boys wanted to go to the beach again and honestly, I just cannot handle that much heat. One day is good...two...I would probably melt. I woke up very early - 745am. Don't ask. It was a good thing though. I got ready and was out the door in 30 minutes. I managed to buy a ticket on the train (it's more difficult than you think for someone who cannot speak Spanish), get myself to Barcelona, find my way to the aquarium, find my way back to the train station and also figure out which train out of the 12 available would get me back to Sitges. That was a bit nerve wracking but I made it just fine. Anyway, I spent the morning at the aquarium. I was dissapointed with the size..it seemed like it would be a LOT bigger but it was probably 1/4 the size of the Seattle aquarium, if that. The only real highlight was amazing creatures you see here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlDfgpNvG18&feature=youtube_gdata_player
. I am so glad I started to take this video - watch it from start to end. It literally almost made me cry. When I got back to Sitges, I explored the town more since we are usually always on the go and also did some shopping. You cannot leave Spain without a true "Spain style" (as I call it) bikini :)
I am now back in the hotel and am SO ready for a nap. Siesta time!

When I got back to Sitges, I explored the town more since we are usually always on the go and also did some shopping. You cannot leave Spain without a true "Spain style" (as I call it) bikini :)
I am now back in the hotel and am SO ready for a nap. Siesta time!

Guetta and Ibiza ---> Barcelona/Sitges
David Guetta was AMAZING!!! Nervo and Afrojack opened up for him..although that hardly should be an "opening" few acts. All 3 were so incredible. We got to Ushuaia at approx 7pm and the party was just really getting started. There was a major crowd as always infront of the stage but we somehow made our way to the very front. I am NEVER a "push my way to the front" show go-er so I shocked myself (I am sure the additional vodka consumed helped). We ended up front and center, 2 rows from the stage. It was THE best spot in the house. We weren't being shoved into a hard railing or being tossed around like rag dolls. The people there were for the most part very fun with the exception of one couple - a VERY intoxicated girl and her idiot boyfriend. They kept trying to squeeze their way to the front during Guetta, but no one would allow them...naturally. She got irrate and started a few screaming matches and almost got herself blasted in the face a few times. She truly did ruin parts of the show because she commanded so much attention during her whines. Security eventually kicked them out..thank goodness. There were tons of really cool special effects: the ice fog thing I cannot stand, flames, fireworks, sparker like things, beautiful confetti, ballons, go-go dancers in some pretty hot outfits, Cathy Guetta made an appearance right infront of us, and the coolest thing of all...a burlesque acrobat that was floating above the crowd tied to about a zillion balloons! It was incredibly hot being in 80 degree weather, between a ton of people, jumping up and down, and not being able to even move for water. We somehow lasted until the end of the show which was around midnight. After that, I was completely worn - we left to go back to the hotel. The boys went for pizza and I went for an ice cold shower and bed. You NEED to check out the hotel that Guetta has his residency..it's beautiful http://www.ushuaiabeachhotel.com/
This morning we woke up and headed to the airport for our 10am flight. Landed in Ibiza right on time at 1150pm and somehow a friend who was meeting us miraculously found is in the airport in Barcelona. He flew in from Miama and arrived about an hour ahead of us. We all shared a cab to Sitges and that was quite the site. Barton, Jonathan, Johnny and I plus 4 large check in bags and 4 fairly decent roller carry on bags in a small Peugeot. I keep forgetting that most gay men do not travel lightly..nor do I :)
We checked into our hotel - the boys have a separate room from me this time so that will be a good change. We're staying at Hotel Calipolis http://www.hotelcalipolis.com/. The view from my room is primarily of the mountains and beautiful buildings but I was very lucky to have a partial sea view too!! Once bags were dropped, we headed out for some lunch. We landed at Bar Maringa Sitges and got some incredible salads. It is scorching hot out again so we needed something fresh and light. I swear the walk back burnt off all of my calories. It's about a 15 minute walk from where we were to the hotel but with this insane heat...good grief!!! Back at room now after a stop at the super mercado. Now time to get ready for our first night here!!!

Americans vs The French
Oh day #2 in Ibiza...how interesting you were. This blog entry is going to be short as I have Guetta to pay attention to very shortly :)
Lunch ended up being a snack of pizza and a caprese salad..with no cava...shocking, I know. We took the water taxi over to downtown Ibiza. We had our hearts set on getting tickets for an event last night...long story short, we finally scored tickets to tonight (Monday) David Guetta at Ushuaia (A big I'm sorry for those who I offend with this event name) http://www.ushuaiaibiza.com/en/artists/david-guetta/. We also scored some tickets to a WE beach party.
We found a very cute bar called Swaim (no website avail) and had massive amounts of cava. The bar itself had a very small outside area so it spilled across the way into the front of a jewelery store...one that we surely did venture in to (Chris was very scared when I told him where I was :) ). Barton ended up getting a very posh skull bracelet..I know it sounds cheesy but it is truly a very cool piece. I got 2 very thin rose gold bracelets that shimmer so nicely inthe sun. Jonathan got an onyx ring that fits him to a t! We were all SO happy :)
The beach party....
The boys and I made our own dance party on a double decker wooden lounge but soon got booted off. Anyway, we ended up in chaos. The DJ was decent, not the best. The people were all drunk and making out. The drinks were shit (pardon my french). A shot glass of cava was 10 Euro, no joke. I was a bit besides myself. We left early and headed to cabs around 1145pm. We someone ended up at Ushuaia where Avicci and Alesso were...may I just say...INCREDIBLE time to "just so happen to be there" :)
After a bit of that, the pool party shut down and we were left to rend for ourselves for dinner. We ended up walking up what I swear was about 10 miles of the steepest incline ever to a very quaint area with amazing restaurants. We chose El Olivo http://www.elolivoibiza.org/carte_gb.php for the eve (mind you, it was now approx 130am). I had Halibut. Jonathan had a chicken risotto and barton had chicken and polenta. We finsihed with the profiterolles with chocolate sauce...oh and some cute pictues (to come) on the stairs across the way. During our profiterolles, I politely showed Barton a bracelt the French man next to me was wearing. He and his boyfriend were having dinner beside us all night. His boyfriend proceeded to ask if I was American and I stated "yes, yes I am" and he said "gah. figured. I could not listen to your annoying American voice any longer". Really? REALLY? The man sitting besides me was embarassed and speaking with me about Seattle, Italy and Rome...very, very sweet man. He also lived in Manhatan Beach CA where I lived so we chatted about the local spots - to him, I clearly was NOT an annoying American. So, Mr. Rude Frenchie..after a few comments about how my job as a mortgage person and Jonathan's job as a real estate agent are "far unnecessary and the reason why the world is crashing down". I honestly had zero comment. I was polite and held my calm the whole time (again, shocking) and maintained my focus on the man next to me. He was way more interesting anyway. Finally, rude Frenchie said his flight was at 5am..approx 3 hours from then and I said "great, beat it". That was the last I heard from him. His boyfriend bed his farewell and apologized..I felt horrible for him and assured him I took no real offense and that it was OK. I had zero idea that a polite American group could stir such a frenzy with a somewhat reserved Frenchman...but then again, it's all relevant, eh? C'est la vie
Ok moving on....the boys decided that we shoud walk home...approx 30 minute walk or so. I was half wanting to kill them but it was a very "cultural" experience. We made it safe, thankfully.
Today, we woke up at 1030am..chipper as can be (not) for breakfast. I swear, if you miss breakfast here, it's like missing the most important part of your day. After breakfast, we went pool side where I managed to fall into a deep sleep (oops). It's now approx 6pm and we are getting ready to go to David Guetta!!!!
Till my next post..xoxo
ps did I mention that I miss my fiance and friends SO much!??

Ibiza!!!!!
After a few (well maybe WAY more than a few) glasses of cava in the lounge, I made my way to the A and B gate area and met the boys right infront of our gate. I had been heavily consuming cava which led to a VERY hard pass out on the plane....for all 3 of us.Apparently Jonathan did exactlty what I did on the flight over and didn't sleep at all :)
At touch down, we walked down the stairs to a bus that drove us to the baggage claim. Yes, it's very old school when it comes to Ibiza airport operations. A bit of a pain to carry your luggage down stairs but also a very cute reminder of what it was like when I flew island to island in Hawaii while growing up.
When we got to our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. You know how the pictures of the hotel on their website are usually massively photoshopped or fake? Well, the pictures were very true to the actual hotel. You can see the marina as soon as you walk into the lobby - it was simply gorgeous. The room set up was perfect. We got a 3 person room. We walk into the room, immediate right is our bathroom, then my nook, then a doored room for the boys - exactly what we needed! The walls are freshly painted/maintained, furniture is actually very nice as well and unlike the other hotel we stayed at last year, it's very clean. The floors don't feel like they're dusty and icky - they actually feel waxed! Here is a link to my home for a few days :) http://ibizacorso.com/
We droppped our bags off and headed out as it was already almost 930pm. We debated a water taxi so headed across the street to the marina...a very cute litle restaurant named Cafe Sydney (http://cafesidney.com/). We wanted a cava drink (surprise!!) so the very beautiful bartender made us a drink made of flower water, cava and sparkling water - it was THE perfect refresher to start the still 85 degree night. We watched her make some super fancy drink in a GIANT glass called a Martini Royale. It was made with a Martini brando vodka (I believe?), cava again and fresh mint. She made one too many and offered one to us complimentary. Of course we accepted :). It was delicious but definitely REALLY helped kick start our night. Somehow 11pm rolled around and it was too late for a water taxi, so we just took a normal taxi across the way. Last year, we made many friends with some owners/workers in the restaurant and bars in downtown so we decided to pay them a visit! We ate at the one of the restaurants that we fell in love with last year called Pomelo Pomelo. The server AND owner remembered us from last year. Jonathan and I shared a paella and Barton got the chicken dish we both had last year. They have this incredible aioli sauce for the bread that I just love..it's prob made of just mayo and tons of garlic but screw it, I'm on vacation :) Once done with dinner, we headed to our favorite bar called Sunrise bar aka the swing bar. They have super cute rope swings inside the bar that I just LOVE! The owner of that bart (that the boys fell in love with) also remembered us AND what I loved to drink. We spent a short time there since were all just so beaten up from the trip over - it was just enough time to watch a few of the club's parades come through (pictures to be posted later). We headed back to get a taxi and passed by a spanish bathing suit shop that we shopped in last year - the worker there remembered us and commented on my super short hair. Then, we passed by a Diesel store where they were out of Jonathan's shoes last year (and he threw a fit) so naturally, the worker there also remembered us. On the marina, we stopped for ice cream (for Jonathan) and cava (for me) and watched all the craziness go down in the streets - I wish the US was like this! So free and so fun.
This morning we woke up just in time for breakfast...it ended at 10am and we were there at 955am. The breakfast here is much different than the US' normal eggs and bacon. They serve fresh fruits, thinly slicked meats (salami, turkey, jamon, etc), thinly sliced cheeses, a few types of breads, assorted pastries, yogurt, and very fresh juices (orange, pineapple or peach). It was delicious as always. Once back at the room, the boys headed to the pool but I opted to stay in. I am darker than dark and could use a very good catch up sleep!
Now off to lunch...at 4pm :)

Hola!
Hi guys...so as many of you know, I'm back in Europe with 2 of my favorite boys!!! Since I was not smart and I didn't get my phone working properly before I left, I'll have limited access to updates/posts/etc via FB and text so I've decided to keep up a blog. This will also be an incredible way for me to remember the trip as well!!
So far, here is what I have to report...I made it safe and sound!! Seattle to Amsterdam to Barcelona. I left at 140pm Seattle time and landed in Amsterdam at approx 830am. My flight to Barcelona was at 1015 so the "layover" was basically me running like a maniac to my next gate. Right now, I'm trying to settle in at the VIP Lounge in Barcelona...of course, no free internet unless you are on their computers. They're gorgeous computers but the keyboards keep screwing me up! I now have a 4 hour layover but let me tell you...it is SO needed!
Anyway, let's talk about my trip from Seattle to Amsterdam. Chris dropped me off at the airport around 1130. That gave me tons of time to check in and spend $40 at the stupid hudson news store...way to start off the trip on the right foot I guess!!! The plan for the trip was to sleep..A LOT. Did that happen? Not a chance. The minute I found my seat which was in the first half of the plane...a woman looks over in a slight accent and says to her husband...wasn't that seat open when we booked our ticket? Ask to see her ticket. I think she's in the wrong seat. Ok..what? Well that was short lived because a second later, an older couple who didn't speak any english asked me to switch seats. He and his wife had seats far apart...they asked me via a prewritten note. I couldn't not do it...and I would like to have moved away from those rude seat neighbors anyway. My seat ended up being in the second half of the plane. My neighbor was quite which was nice...too bad the rest of the plane wasn't. There was a drunk couple..approx 55 years in age..no joke. They were about 3 rows behind me but in the middle chunk. They were so incredibly drunk. He kept screaming and yelling..to the point where the whole plane is turned around. His wife is saying something too that I couldn't make out. He said she is diabetic then slapped her, yes SLAPPED her. So the guy in the seat across the aisle grabbed his arm. What does Mr. drunk do? Oh well duh..what any 55 year old drunk on a plane would...punch the guy in the arm. SERIOUSLY?!? At this point there's a mid air plane brawl going on behind me. After about 30 minutes, they managed to move him to the VERY back. They would get him calmed, walk away and then wham..wacko again. Once he moved his wife who was drolling on herself and had her eye cover half on...started balling. The flight attendant had to sit on the arm of the chair in the aisle and talk to her..FOR THE REMAINING 2 HOURS OF THE FLIGHT. It was the worst flight I have ever been on in my life. I have zero clue as to why they let people that drunk onto a plane...but what's worst is I had zero sleep. Yes, that is me being selfish.
Ok gonna head to the fabulous food and drink area. Thank goodness this VIP lounge comes with amazing real food, no cracker crap...and BOOZE. Wow, what a mood I am in :)
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!! xoxo
