Americans vs The French

Oh day #2 in Ibiza...how interesting you were. This blog entry is going to be short as I have Guetta to pay attention to very shortly :)

Lunch ended up being a snack of pizza and a caprese salad..with no cava...shocking, I know. We took the water taxi over to downtown Ibiza. We had our hearts set on getting tickets for an event last night...long story short, we finally scored tickets to tonight (Monday) David Guetta at Ushuaia (A big I'm sorry for those who I offend with this event name) http://www.ushuaiaibiza.com/en/artists/david-guetta/. We also scored some tickets to a WE beach party.

We found a very cute bar called Swaim (no website avail) and had massive amounts of cava. The bar itself had a very small outside area so it spilled across the way into the front of a jewelery store...one that we surely did venture in to (Chris was very scared when I told him where I was  :) ). Barton ended up getting a very posh skull bracelet..I know it sounds cheesy but it is truly a very cool piece. I got 2 very thin rose gold bracelets that shimmer so nicely inthe sun. Jonathan got an onyx ring that fits him to a t! We were all SO happy :)

The beach party....
The boys and I made our own dance party on a double decker wooden lounge  but soon got booted off. Anyway, we ended up in chaos. The DJ was decent, not the best. The people were all drunk and making out. The drinks were shit (pardon my french). A shot glass of cava was 10 Euro, no joke. I was a bit besides myself. We left early and headed to cabs around 1145pm. We someone ended up at Ushuaia where Avicci and Alesso were...may I just say...INCREDIBLE time to "just so happen to be there" :)

After a bit of that, the pool party shut down and we were left to rend for ourselves for dinner. We ended up walking up what I swear was about 10 miles of the steepest incline ever to a very quaint area with amazing restaurants. We chose El Olivo http://www.elolivoibiza.org/carte_gb.php for the eve (mind you, it was now approx 130am). I had Halibut. Jonathan had a chicken risotto and barton had chicken and polenta. We finsihed with the profiterolles with chocolate sauce...oh and some cute pictues (to come) on the stairs across the way. During our profiterolles, I politely showed Barton a bracelt the French man next to me was wearing. He and his boyfriend were having dinner beside us all night. His boyfriend proceeded to ask if I was American and I stated "yes, yes I am" and he said "gah. figured. I could not listen to your annoying American voice any longer". Really? REALLY? The man sitting besides me was embarassed and speaking with me about Seattle, Italy and Rome...very, very sweet man. He also lived in Manhatan Beach CA where I lived so we chatted about the local spots - to him, I clearly was NOT an annoying American. So, Mr. Rude Frenchie..after a few comments about how my job as a mortgage person and Jonathan's job as a real estate agent are "far unnecessary and the reason why the world is crashing down". I honestly had zero comment. I was polite and held my calm the whole time (again, shocking) and maintained my focus on the man next to me. He was way more interesting anyway. Finally, rude Frenchie said his flight was at 5am..approx 3 hours from then and I said "great, beat it". That was the last I heard from him. His boyfriend bed his farewell and apologized..I felt horrible for him and assured him I took no real offense and that it was OK. I had zero idea that a polite American group could stir such a frenzy with a somewhat reserved Frenchman...but then again, it's all relevant, eh? C'est la vie

Ok moving on....the boys decided that we shoud walk home...approx 30 minute walk or so. I was half wanting to kill them but it was a very "cultural" experience. We made it safe, thankfully.

Today, we woke up at 1030am..chipper as can be (not) for breakfast. I swear, if you miss breakfast here, it's like missing the most important part of your day. After breakfast, we went pool side where I managed to fall into a deep sleep (oops). It's now approx 6pm and we are getting ready to go to David Guetta!!!!

Till my next post..xoxo

ps did I mention that I miss my fiance and friends SO much!??
