Guetta and Ibiza ---> Barcelona/Sitges

David Guetta was AMAZING!!! Nervo and Afrojack opened up for him..although that hardly should be an "opening" few acts. All 3 were so incredible. We got to Ushuaia at approx 7pm and the party was just really getting started. There was a major crowd as always infront of the stage but we somehow made our way to the very front. I am NEVER a "push my way to the front" show go-er so I shocked myself (I am sure the additional vodka consumed helped). We ended up front and center, 2 rows from the stage. It was THE best spot in the house. We weren't being shoved into a hard railing or being tossed around like rag dolls. The people there were for the most part very fun with the exception of one couple - a VERY intoxicated girl and her idiot boyfriend. They kept trying to squeeze their way to the front during Guetta, but no one would allow them...naturally. She got irrate and started a few screaming matches and almost got herself blasted in the face a few times. She truly did ruin parts of the show because she commanded so much attention during her whines. Security eventually kicked them out..thank goodness. There were tons of really cool special effects: the ice fog thing I cannot stand, flames, fireworks, sparker like things, beautiful confetti, ballons, go-go dancers in some pretty hot outfits, Cathy Guetta made an appearance right infront of us, and the coolest thing of all...a burlesque acrobat that was floating above the crowd tied to about a zillion balloons! It was incredibly hot being in 80 degree weather, between a ton of people, jumping up and down, and not being able to even move for water. We somehow lasted until the end of the show which was around midnight. After that, I was completely worn - we left to go back to the hotel. The boys went for pizza and I went for an ice cold shower and bed. You NEED to check out the hotel that Guetta has his residency..it's beautiful http://www.ushuaiabeachhotel.com/

This morning we woke up and headed to the airport for our 10am flight. Landed in Ibiza right on time at 1150pm and somehow a friend who was meeting us miraculously found is in the airport in Barcelona. He flew in from Miama and arrived about an hour ahead of us. We all shared a cab to Sitges and that was quite the site. Barton, Jonathan, Johnny and I plus 4 large check in bags and 4 fairly decent roller carry on bags in a small Peugeot. I keep forgetting that most gay men do not travel lightly..nor do I :)

We checked into our hotel - the boys have a separate room from me this time so that will be a good change. We're staying at Hotel Calipolis http://www.hotelcalipolis.com/. The view from my room is primarily of the mountains and beautiful buildings but I was very lucky to have a partial sea view too!! Once bags were dropped, we headed out for some lunch. We landed at Bar Maringa Sitges and got some incredible salads. It is scorching hot out again so we needed something fresh and light. I swear the walk back burnt off all of my calories. It's about a 15 minute walk from where we were to the hotel but with this insane heat...good grief!!! Back at room now after a stop at the super mercado. Now time to get ready for our first night here!!!
